It’s impossible to distill the many joys of this Reading Retreat experience down into a short montage. There are so many little details and nuances (some by design and some by fate) that are the reason I do this.

Travel doesn’t have to be a bucket list adventure. Sometimes all you need is a quiet weekend a couple hours from home, some thoughtful personal touches, and time to just breathe. I love that I get to do that. I honestly can’t believe this is my job!

My cup is so full after having spent the weekend with these incredible women at our spring Reading Retreat.

This group represents 6 different NC cities, a nearly 4 decade age range, many different and extraordinary career paths, a wealth of invaluable and varied life experience, and some truly fun and inspiring hobbies.

We shared delicious meals, hearty laughter, honest conversation, and so many book recs! We supported and encouraged each other, listened with an open heart, rested in quiet moments, and maybe even read a few book pages.

If you didn’t know better, you’d think we’d all been friends our whole lives (though only some have been). We all left feeling more connected - to friends new and old, and to ourselves.

That’s the magic of a mountain Reading Retreat!
