The morning golden "hour" here at the Inn is really special. We love it when the sun hits the log walls just right, and sends a warm glow all through the house. It lights up the rooms in the nicest way and makes everything feel peaceful.

The leather sofas and rocking chairs are looking cozy, the bedrooms quiet and bright, and the great views of the hills from the porch and yard. A beautiful way to start your day. Perfect time to grab a hot beverage and just enjoy the quiet before things get going!

We greatly love the history here at the Inn!

Winter really settled in here at the Inn a few weeks back. We had that lovely snow that stayed on the ground for almost three weeks—everything looked so peaceful and pretty, like a quiet blanket over the mountains.
Even Maggodee Creek froze all the way across, and some folks actually walked right over it! ❄️

Our guests have been wonderful through it all—braving the cold, the ice, and the snow without missing a beat. We're so grateful for their adventurous spirits.

Now, with these sunny mornings finally melting away the last bits of snow ☀️, we're all starting to feel spring just around the corner. We can't wait for warmer days, blooming flowers, and new guests to enjoy it with us!

15 years ago, a fluffy Husky mix puppy named Bear came into our lives and stole every heart on our 126-acre farm at the Inn. 🐾❄️
He was his own man—independent, adventurous, and unstoppable. We tried to keep him off the road, but Bear did what Bear wanted, when he wanted.
He was the farm's legendary hunter: patiently perched on the front porch for hours, watching for groundhogs to appear. When they did? Gone. Moles didn't stand a chance either—he'd tilt his head, stare at the ground, and in seconds, dig one up like magic. Our gardens and property were safer because of him.
Through every renovation, every project, Bear was right there "helping"—stationed on the porch, greeting contractors, barking to announce anyone coming down the driveway. He knew before we did.

And he even served as the master of ceremonies at a wedding right here on the farm—presiding over the day with his signature charm and watchful eye, making sure everything went perfectly. 🐺

And oh, the zoomies! We called it "show lessons"—he'd race around with pure joy, the other dogs chasing him in circles, never quite catching the king.

Bear was always here, always the best guy. The farm won't be the same without his watchful eyes and fierce hunting skills.

Two weeks ago Monday, what we thought was just hip pain turned into devastating news: his bladder full of cancer, tumors in his lungs and prostate. No cure, no treatment. We had to say goodbye.

His legend lives on through Rowdy, who Bear taught so much in the last two years. Rowdy now senses moles just like his mentor and barks with the same ferocity. Bear passed the torch.
We'll miss you, Bear. You were the heart of this place. 💔

We're a little late with our wishes this year—things have been wonderfully busy through the holidays, and we just couldn't squeeze it in until now! Better late than never, right? 😊
As we wrap up 2025 and step into 2026, we want to wish each and every one of you a truly blessed, joyful, and peaceful New Year.
A huge, heartfelt thank you for all your support last year—your visits, kind messages, bookings, and encouragement truly mean the world to us and keep this special place going strong. We're so grateful for you!

Our sweet Bear wanted to chime in with the celebrations too! 🐶✨ (We do have some bittersweet news about him to share, but we'll post an update about that separately in the coming days.)
Here's to fresh starts, more beautiful memories, and the joy of welcoming you back to the Inn this year. We can't wait to host you again!

Dear Friends & Guests of The Inn at Maggodee Creek.

In the quiet of this Christmas evening, we’re reminded that the true reason of the season isn’t in the lights or gifts…

Feeling grateful today! 🎃🍂
We were able to donate the Inn’s fall pumpkins — as we do every year — to a local farmer friend. Her cows and hogs enjoy eating them too, but the Goats still think these pumpkins are gourmet treats. 🐐💛

She picked them up today, and they’re on their way to the farm — pretty sure the goats are already waiting at the fence for their annual delivery. 😄

Glad we can keep this tradition going and recycle our fall décor in a way that makes some animals very happy!
