What a special visit we had this evening!

Cousin Janet and her husband Bill came by the Inn at Maggodee Creek wanting to do something they used to do years ago when this was Aunt Virgie’s house, pick fresh corn. We decided to grow some this year just for that reason, and we hope it tasted just as good as she remembers.

Janet shared:
“I love visiting my cousin and his wife in Boones Mill! Takes me back to my childhood, lots of cookouts at my Aunt Virgie’s which is now the Inn at Maggodee Creek. Last time I was down there getting fresh corn I was with my Dad, probably a little over 10 years ago. What a sweet memory. Thanks Danny and Rhonda. Loved the memories and seeing y'all. .🥰”

She also told us about the big family reunions that used to fill this place.... softball games in the front yard, cars parked everywhere, and it seemed like a hundred relatives gathered together. Those are the kinds of memories that make this old house feel like home.
We’re so glad we could help make a new sweet memory on top of the old ones.

The morning golden "hour" here at the Inn is really special. We love it when the sun hits the log walls just right, and sends a warm glow all through the house. It lights up the rooms in the nicest way and makes everything feel peaceful.

The leather sofas and rocking chairs are looking cozy, the bedrooms quiet and bright, and the great views of the hills from the porch and yard. A beautiful way to start your day. Perfect time to grab a hot beverage and just enjoy the quiet before things get going!

Winter really settled in here at the Inn a few weeks back. We had that lovely snow that stayed on the ground for almost three weeks—everything looked so peaceful and pretty, like a quiet blanket over the mountains.
Even Maggodee Creek froze all the way across, and some folks actually walked right over it! ❄️

Our guests have been wonderful through it all—braving the cold, the ice, and the snow without missing a beat. We're so grateful for their adventurous spirits.

Now, with these sunny mornings finally melting away the last bits of snow ☀️, we're all starting to feel spring just around the corner. We can't wait for warmer days, blooming flowers, and new guests to enjoy it with us!
