The weather in Southwest Wisconsin continues to be incredible looking for the foreseeable future. We are putting people on the water into October. If you've never done a fall paddle, the river is looking perfect, there's sand bars everywhere, trees are starting to change and it's not too late to get a memory for the upcoming winter. We are on an absolutely gorgeous stretch of weather here in Southwest Wisconsin! It also appears that summer is going to return for the next several days, with highs in the '80s. You missed an absolutely gorgeous weekend in Southwest Wisconsin and on the Wisconsin River! We had a group of 20 pilots fly in from the Wonder Lake and Grayslake area for a day trip, a few scout groups, a group of cycling friends, two different women's groups and a group of friends from Chicago just to name a few. And yet, you're going to get a second bite at the apple! This coming weekend is looking just as gorgeous and even a tad bit warmer if you're among the temperature sensitive🙂 September is looking absolutely gorgeous at this point for both weather and water levels. Don't we all feel like this sometimes? We're just trying to be something beautiful growing up between the cracks in the asphalt and make the best of it. Anjelica took this in our parking lot, that's a 20 boat trailer looming over the top of that petunia. Speaking of trying to be something beautiful... You are running out of summer! So, just like Grandpa Newton's stories used to start out, unfiltered PalMall dangling from his lips, several days of white/gray growth on his face that matched the hair on his head..."so, I'm sitting there, sucking on a Blue and....." It's the second, honestly, rough summer in a row at WRO. Wet June's and early July's are tough on a canoe rental. Don't worry, there'll be food to put in our bellies over the winter and Scott will muster up the cash to travel abroad, somewhere. However, if you've been thinking about coming up to paddle, stop thinking and start planning! We will be putting people out into October, the weather and the amount of interest will determined for how long. If you're carrying a credit, please consider taking advantage of that credit this year rather than holding it until next. To all of our long time customers, thank you for your years of support! To those who are still working on planning their first trip, life is too short, stop thinking about it, and do it! We hope to see you on the river soon!

Are there fish in the Wisconsin River? Absolutely! The question is, do you know how to catch them? This giant catfish was caught while Dad was being driven back upriver from Boscobel to Lone Rock to start their canoe trip. Fishing from the bank right where Otter Creek dumps into the Wisconsin is where this monster was caught. It's going to be an absolutely fabulous weekend this weekend! Plenty of sand bars and ridiculously pleasant temperatures. Tomorrow is August 1st, you're running out of summer!
