This is what “leading from within” looks like.

As Travel Impactful and Sarah Platt-Finger’s community came together for our Women’s Leadership Yoga Retreat, we spent a day with Ibu Sari — a local leader who turned her own hardship into PKP, a community built to help other women rebuild their lives.

On the mat, we practiced leading from within. Off the mat, Sari showed us what that looks like lived out — leading herself through adversity first, then leading an entire community forward.

We learned how to cook Balinese food, make offerings, sing, dance, and share a meal together — celebrating the simple truth that women’s resilience looks the same everywhere.

Eighteen months ago, Sarah Platt-Finger and Travel Impactful started building something bigger than a yoga retreat. We wanted a space where women could come back to themselves and learn to lead from that steady, quiet place within.

Because when a woman changes from the inside out, that change doesn’t stop with her. It reaches her relationships, her work, her community.

Last week in Bali, it happened. A week of wellness, real connection, cultural immersion, and giving back. None of us will forget it.

The week is over. The journey isn’t. Our virtual community keeps going, and we’ll keep learning and growing alongside Sarah.

To every woman who trusted us with this experience, thank you. You made it far more meaningful than we could have planned. 💛

We landed, settled in, and began our first afternoon with yoga, gently releasing the stiffness of a long journey and reconnecting with our bodies.

Later, we walked to the temple for an opening ceremony, a sacred Balinese blessing to clear the mind, bring intention to our words, and prepare the energy for the journey ahead.

Because Lead From Within begins before leadership. It begins with awareness, presence, and the ability to listen before we speak. The Balinese tradition honors this beautifully, and we were welcomed into that moment of reflection and renewal.

Happy International Day of Yoga 🧘‍♀️

While many people celebrate by rolling out a yoga mat, the true practice of yoga extends far beyond movement.

At its heart, yoga is a path toward consciousness — rooted in the ancient wisdom of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which teaches that asana (the physical postures) is just one of eight limbs on the way to a more awakened life.

It invites us to pause, look inward, and remember that how we show up in the world matters.

A kind word. A generous act. A moment of presence. The courage to lead with love instead of fear.

This is the spirit behind our upcoming Bali retreat, Free Your Soul: Lead From Within, led by Sarah Platt-Finger ().

In just a few days, a group of women will pack their bags, say goodbye to their daily routines, and gather in Bali with a shared intention: to invest in their own growth, reconnect with themselves, and cultivate the clarity, courage, and compassion needed to create meaningful change.

Today, Bali is celebrating something most visitors never get to see timed this perfectly.

It's Galungan, the day the island marks the victory of good over evil.
Families wake before sunrise. Bamboo penjor arch over every street.
Ancestral spirits are welcomed home with offerings made by hand, the same way they have been for generations.
