Remember when we said we were back in the USA? Well April Fools, we're not staying for long! Tonight we take off to the Azores, Portugal for two weeks! Thennnnn we'll be back to stay. Maybe. 😄

Exactly a year ago today, we left for a year in South America. Today we're back and what a wonderful return it is! Grand Central Terminal, bacon burgers in NYC! What more could you possibly need? With the first sip of Dr. Pepper, we knew we were home. Great to be back in the good ol’ USofA!

Our last week in Latin America was filled with old American cars, music, and Che! CUBA pushes the travel limits making you feel simultaneously frustrated and head over heels in love. Our most memorable week of the trip by far!

The last few days of our year in South America are coming to a bitter-sweet end. To celebrate, we went to the middle of the world and stood on both the northern and southern hemisphere! Who can guess what country is up next?!

Looking for an adventure town? Baños, Ecuador is three hours outside of Quito and packed with adrenaline pumping activities including a lava-spewing volcano for real thrill seekers! This was our first time seeing lava!

Leap Day meant we got to spend an extra day at the beautiful Playa Blanca on Isla Barú near Cartagena, Colombia! Now on to Ecuador!

Bye bye Brazil! We already miss your sunshine, energy, and beautiful beaches. Now Hola Colombia! Off to work on an organic farm for three weeks immersed in some serious Spanish practice and manual labor. Bring it on.

This selection was taken in La Paz, Copacabana, Lake Titicaca, and Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. Bolivia has the highest number of indigenous people (did not mix with the Spainards as much) in all of South America. La Paz, the administrative capital, sits at 12,000 feet above sea level! Out of thousands of Peru photos (I think I was a little click happy in our first country), we chose our favorites. This selection was taken along the central coast of Peru (including the cities of Lima, Pisco, Paracas, and Huacachina) as well as Arequipa, Cusco, and Lake Titicaca.
