The best journeys don't end when you get home.

They become the stories you tell for years afterwards.

For a long time, luxury travel has been centred around extraordinary experiences. And those experiences still matter.

But we're seeing something even more meaningful emerge.

The trips that stay with people aren't just memorable because of where they went. They're memorable because of who they shared them with.

A grandmother seeing Africa through the eyes of her grandchildren.

Three lifelong friends finally taking the wine journey they've talked about for decades.

Parents watching their grown children discover Japan together.

These aren't simply holidays.

They're shared memories that become part of a family's story.

At TRAVELLUSTRE, that's what we're designing. Not just beautiful itineraries, but journeys that bring people together and create moments they'll be talking about long after they've unpacked.

Swipe through to discover why we think shareable experiences are shaping the future of luxury travel.

Not every luxury journey calls for a hotel.

Sometimes the perfect setting is a place that's entirely your own.

We're seeing growing interest in exclusive-use lodges for milestone celebrations, multi-generational family trips, and groups of friends looking to experience something together.

This is about choosing the right style of travel for the journey you're planning.

Take Tordrillo Mountain Lodge in Alaska.

Here, every heli ski adventure (perhaps with a former Olympian downhill skier), glacier landing, fishing excursion, shared meal, and fireside evening is designed exclusively around you. The pace is yours to set, creating an experience that feels deeply personal from start to finish.

Whether it's an iconic hotel, a private villa, or an exclusive-use lodge, the best luxury travel is always about matching the destination and experience to the people you're travelling with.

That's where a TRAVELLUSTRE Advisor makes all the difference.

There are few destinations that offer such a remarkable contrast of experiences. South Africa is one of them. 🍷

After time spent on safari, TRAVELLUSTRE member Michelle Wolins founder of Emerald Palm Travel. She continued her journey through the Cape Winelands, where vineyard-covered hills, exceptional cuisine, and warm hospitality reveal an entirely different side of the country.

From unforgettable meals at Delaire Graff Restaurant to exploring some of the region's most celebrated wine estates, including Delaire Graff and Waterford Wine Estate, every experience showcased the craftsmanship and sense of place that make the Winelands so special.

Pairing the Cape Winelands with a safari creates a beautifully balanced itinerary, one that blends adventure with relaxation, wildlife with world-class wine, and unforgettable moments with exceptional hospitality.

Experiences like this are exactly why firsthand insight matters. The best itineraries are about more than checking off destinations, they're about creating a journey where each stop complements the next.

There are few travel experiences that leave such a lasting impression as a South African safari. 🦁

We loved following along as TRAVELLUSTRE member Michelle Wollins founder of Emerald Palm Travel. Michelle recently returned from South Africa, spending time immersed in the incredible landscapes and wildlife that make this destination so unforgettable.

From early morning game drives and remarkable wildlife encounters to quiet moments overlooking the bush from a private plunge pool, Michelle experienced firsthand how a safari is about so much more than spotting the Big Five. It's about slowing down, reconnecting with nature, and experiencing a level of hospitality that feels effortless at every turn.

Staying at Tengile MalaMala Collection
and she discovered how thoughtful service, exceptional guiding, and an authentic sense of place come together to create memories that last long after the journey ends.

This is just one side of South Africa's story. Next, we'll be heading to the Cape Winelands to discover another equally unforgettable chapter of Michelle's journey.

Our latest TRAVELLUSTRE Book Club centered around The Heart of Hospitality by Michael Solomon, and one idea stayed with me long after our discussion ended.

The most memorable hotels don't simply exist in beautiful destinations.

They help you feel connected to them.

Every detail, from the architecture and interiors to the cuisine and service, should reinforce a sense of place rather than compete with it.

But what resonated most with our group wasn't the design. It was the people.

Nearly everyone shared a story about a hotel or lodge team member who listened closely to an offhand comment and turned it into something unforgettable.

Those thoughtful, unscripted gestures are often what guests remember most.

It's a wonderful reminder that while extraordinary places draw us in, it's human connection that ultimately defines the experience.

I'd love to hear from you. What's the most thoughtful hospitality gesture you've experienced while traveling?

There are some destinations that surprise you not because they're undiscovered, but because they reveal a side you weren't expecting. Newport is one of them. ⚓

We loved following along as D.A. Luxury Travel Director (a member of TRAVELLUSTRE) advisor Lizzie Alex recently returned from Newport, Rhode Island, where she discovered one of the city's best-kept secrets: The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection.

Set within a beautifully restored Gilded Age mansion with just 33 rooms, the hotel feels more like an elegant private residence than a traditional resort. Tucked away from the bustle, yet just moments from Newport's waterfront, historic mansions, and vibrant dining scene, it's the perfect base for exploring this charming coastal town.

From hidden cocktail experiences and sunset drinks on the rooftop to fresh lobster by the harbor, Newport offers the ideal blend of history, coastal charm, and relaxed luxury. Perfect for couples, families, celebrations, and girls' getaways alike.

It's discoveries like these that remind us why firsthand experience matters. The best recommendations don't come from a brochure, they come from advisors who've walked the streets, stayed at the hotels, and uncovered the experiences that make a destination truly memorable.

Technology is changing the way we work, but it isn't changing why our clients travel.

The role of emerging technology isn't to replace the travel advisor. It's to give us more time to do what matters most: listening carefully, understanding what inspires each client, and designing journeys that feel deeply personal. More room for service and hospitality.

As our COO, Janet Flagg, puts it:

"Emerging technology is empowering our travel advisors to curate highly personalized experiences with greater efficiency and at an unprecedented scale. The result is one-of-a-kind itineraries that allow our clients to connect more deeply with the world's rich cultures through truly immersive travel."

The future of luxury travel will always be human. Technology simply helps us deliver it even better.

What if your next great escape didn't require crossing the Atlantic?

TRAVELLUSTRE Advisor Paige Martins has just returned from Sea Island, Georgia, a destination that feels more like a grand country estate than a traditional resort.

It's the kind of place where every generation finds their own adventure. A morning on the golf course. An afternoon spent tracking nesting sea turtles or exploring Cumberland Island by boat. Cocktails before a private dinner in the wine cellar. Evenings that end swapping stories together.

One experience Paige recommends above all? A private golf cart tour with the island's resident historian, Wheeler. It's an opportunity to discover the stories, traditions, and hidden corners that many visitors never experience, proving that the best luxury travel is often about the people who bring a destination to life.

Sea Island is a reminder that you don't always have to travel far to feel completely transported.

Swipe through for Paige's favourite discoveries.
