🐘 Just 12 days remain to experience The Great Elephant Migration in Boston before the herd departs on September 13.

Now on display in the home city of O.A.T.'s headquarters, this remarkable public art installation tells a story that spans continents. The life-sized elephant sculptures have traveled from city to city, inspiring conversations about wildlife conservation while helping support organizations such as the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya.

Many O.A.T. travelers have a special connection to the Trust through an optional early arrival experience in Nairobi, where they can learn about its work rescuing orphaned elephants, protecting wildlife, and supporting local communities.

Our own connection to these elephants began when they were displayed in Newport. Inspired by both the artistry and the mission behind the project, the Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation acquired several of the sculptures, which now reside at Alnoba in New Hampshire, where they continue to inspire visitors and support the Foundation's commitment to education, leadership, conservation, and community impact.

Seeing the herd arrive in Boston feels especially meaningful. These elephants represent more than a stunning work of art. They symbolize the connections between travelers, conservationists, local communities, and wildlife. They also highlight the important work of organizations like the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, whose conservation efforts many of our travelers witness firsthand in Kenya.

If you're a traveler from New England, or visiting the Boston area before September 13, don't miss the opportunity to experience this inspiring global story up close. 🐘❤️📸

Comment A, B, or C below and let us know whether you'd be interested in a special 2030 itinerary to Oberammergau for the once-in-a-decade Passion Play.

Dating back to 1634, the Passion Play began as a promise made by villagers during the plague and has grown into one of the world's most renowned religious and cultural events. Performed only once every ten years by local residents, it offers a rare opportunity to witness a tradition nearly four centuries in the making.

Nestled in the Bavarian Alps, Oberammergau is known for its painted facades, woodcarving heritage, alpine beauty, and rich Bavarian culture. ✨🇩🇪

O.A.T. travelers return for many reasons, but one of the most meaningful is the chance to connect with the people and cultures they encounter along the way.

Through unique itineraries and authentic experiences, those connections can deepen our understanding of the world—and turn a great trip into a truly memorable journey.

For Jackie, travel with Overseas Adventure Travel has become something much deeper than seeing new places.

On her trips, she’s spent time with social service organizations working within their communities. She’s seen a nonprofit creating clay pots that turn unsafe water into safe drinking water, and met groups helping people learn a trade and find meaningful work, especially those often overlooked.
These are the kinds of experiences that have shaped the way she travels with O.A.T.

What happens when our associates put themselves in our travelers' shoes?

They return with a deeper understanding of the experiences we create every day for you.

By joining our adventures firsthand, associates gain valuable insights into the traveler journey, learn directly from local communities and Trip Experience Leaders, and identify opportunities to make our trips even better. Just as importantly, these experiences help build stronger, more empathetic leaders who bring fresh perspectives back to their teams.

Because the best way to create exceptional travel experiences is to experience them yourself. 🌎❤️

As the Lewis family safari draws to a close, O.A.T. Chair Harriet Lewis reflects on the magic of the experience. “We had so many highlights. Seeing the Big 5 on our first day—including a leopard—Ngorongoro Crater, and so much quality family time.” While the wildlife was amazing, Harriet’s heart always lies with the people. “Our Trip Experience Leader, Elieza Ikamba, bringing clean water to the Foundation-supported Ayalabe School in partnership with Wine to Water, meeting Sister Martha at Albino Peacemakers, and being with our longtime partner W***y Chambulo. I felt so welcomed and connected. It was a dream come true.”
