The next adventure starts before you even touch down. ✈️

Flying over Botswana's wilderness offers a whole new perspective, from winding waterways and vast landscapes to elephants spotted from the air enjoying a mud bath below.

For O.A.T. travelers, getting off the beaten path often means seeing the world from a completely different perspective, and sometimes that perspective comes from 10,000 feet in the air.

Would you take a bush flight to reach your next adventure? 🐘

“If you like roller coasters, you’ll love this small plane.”

That became the unofficial review from one O.A.T. traveler flying between camps in Botswana.

The planes fly low enough for travelers to spot elephants moving below and see the landscape completely open up after the rainy season.

For a lot of the group, the flight ended up being one of the most unexpectedly fun parts of the entire trip.

Would you get on the plane?

One minute, O.A.T. travelers in Botswana were flying low over the tree line spotting elephants from a tiny bush plane.

A few hours later, they were back at camp swapping stories over dinner while Chef Boca walked everyone through the menu for the night.

That rhythm became part of the experience: long safari days, incredible wildlife sightings, then ending the night together around meals nobody expected to be this good in the middle of Botswana.

“If you like roller coasters, you’ll love this small plane.”

And if you love good food, camp dinner delivers too.

Which part of the day would be your favorite?

Quick question for the group: which of the Big Five is your spirit animal? 🐘

Overseas Adventure Travel travelers in Botswana went around the jeep and the answers did not disappoint. Elephants won by a landslide. One for the power and strength, one because "they just chill and eat a lot," and one because they live in matriarchal groups.

No matter the answer, it turned into one of those funny group conversations that everybody got invested in.

Which Big Five animal fits your personality best?

The best safari advice didn’t come from a packing list. It came from the travelers already on the trip.

O.A.T. travelers in Botswana shared the little things they wish they’d known earlier: how cold the mornings actually get, why neutral layers matter, and the best way to climb into the jeep without making it awkward for everyone else.

It felt less like “travel tips” and more like passing advice around between friends.

The whole jeep went quiet watching the elephants move past. No one wanted to interrupt the moment, until one traveler finally said:

“Just amazing silent strength.”

And everyone else felt the same way.

O.A.T. travelers in Botswana talked a lot about the wildlife, but this was one of the sightings people kept coming back to afterward.

Overseas Adventure Travel (O.A.T.) travelers in Botswana were cruising along on a game drive when a herd of impalas decided it was their turn to use the road.

Moments like this became part of daily life on safari. The magic is when you stop, watch, and wait while the wildlife goes about its business.

Have you ever had a wildlife encounter that completely stopped you in your tracks?

At first, the travelers thought they were just watching lions resting in the grass.

Then someone spotted the cubs.

You can hear the energy in the jeep completely change the second everyone realizes what they’re looking at.

Moments like this are why O.A.T. travelers talk so much about safari in Botswana afterward. No screens or fences. Just sitting there watching it happen in real time.

What animal would you be most excited to see?
