Numerous people visited the eruption site in Geldingadalur valley yesterday and we have been bombarded by dozens of really unique photos & videos. Thanks for sharing your experience 🤝

Some explorers yesterday got so excited that they did not dress for the weather and rescue workers had to assist many of them. And since this morning the Geldingadalsgos eruption is off-limits due to exceptionally high levels of dangerous gases being emitted by the eruption. But don’t worry, most likely you’ll have a chance to visit the site after a yellow weather alert is lifted. Keep in mind that a similar eruption at Þráinsskjöldu started 14000 year ago and lasted a few hundred years!

Have not posted shots from Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon for a while as obviously it’s not an easy sight for winter exploration, but thanks God, there are such great explorers as our friend who visits such places even in winter giving us something to dream about tonight!
