ere the canyon walls rise nearly 2,000 feet from the river's edge. The Black Canyon Raft Tour departs from the Lake Mead RV Village in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. From here board a raft for a trip downstream, through spectacular and historic Black Canyon with a beach stop for lunch before arriving at Willow Beach Marina - on the northern reaches of Lake Mohave. Disembark at our full-service marina where you'll have time for a bit of shopping and refreshment before boarding comfortable tour buses for the ride back to the Black Canyon River Adventures location for drop off or continuation on to Las Vegas (depending on tour).

No other company runs the Colorado River below Hoover Dam. No other tour puts you at water level with the dam rising above your raft and the canyon walls closing in on both sides.

This is the view most visitors to Hoover Dam never reach. And it is 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

The Hoover Dam Raft Tour runs daily. September still has open dates. So does Labor Day weekend.

There is no better way to spend a long weekend than on the Colorado River below Hoover Dam. Full-day and half-day tours are still available for Labor Day weekend but that changes quickly.

A lot of people assume rafting the Colorado River requires some kind of preparation. It does not.

You show up to Boulder City. Your guides handle everything. The rafts are large, comfortable, and outfitted with all Coast Guard required safety equipment. A box lunch is included. Round-trip transportation from Las Vegas hotels is available if you need it.

Just bring sunscreen, plenty of water, and a hat. August in the canyon is beautiful and the sun is real. The canyon does the rest.
