Nature’s cleanup crew was out in force today. A pretty impressive gathering of turkey vultures along the shoreline at Lake Mead. Definitely not something you see every day. 🦅

🍻A true piece of Lake Mead history. 🇺🇸

While exploring a cove on Lake Mead, I came across this vintage 7-ounce Coors Banquet can resting on the bottom. Based on its design, it’s estimated to date back to around 1960–1963, making it a remarkable little time capsule.

Back then, there were no pull tabs. Flat-top beer cans were opened by punching triangular holes with a piercing can opener, and Coors was one of the first major American breweries to help pioneer the use of aluminum beverage cans beginning in 1959.

After spending more than 60 years underwater, it’s amazing how much of the graphics and detail have survived.

One of the coolest things about Lake Mead—watching wild bighorn sheep come down to the water for a drink. These incredible animals are surprisingly comfortable around people, but moments like this still feel special every time. 🐏💧

This amphibious aircraft touched down on the water, then fired back up and took off right in front of us. Pretty cool to catch a rare sight like this out on the lake.

Perfect weather, blue water, cliff jumping, tubing, swimming, and hidden beaches all right here at Lake Mead.
