University of Colorado SAE Baja This is the official University of Colorado Baja SAE team page. The Baja program at the University of Colorado - Boulder had been revitalized in August 2015.

The team is challenged with designing and manufacturing an off-road vehicle to compete in the Baja SAE competition. The program is relatively young, but is progressing quickly. The 2015/2016 team was able to place 39th overall, and just a year later the 2016/2017 team placed 34th overall despite mechanical issues. The last few weeks have been an absolutely insane push from everyone on the team, and we leave for competition in just two weeks! We wrapped up expo this past Friday and have gotten the new vehicle out to IMI for some great testing in the last 3 days. More to come on that soon 👀. The Frankenbox lives!

The team has made so much unbelievable progress in the last 3 weeks, and we’re getting closer by the day to finishing the build for testing. The gearbox is in the process of assembly, and our front uprights are almost finished being machined by . We can’t wait to show you more progress

What a huge milestone! We bent the roll cage over two weeks ago, and we’re right on track to get to Oregon this spring. Once again a huge thank you to for supporting our season this year.

Every day there’s a new project, this time it was our weld test for Cole and Kyle. This year we’re planning to TIG weld the chassis, more on that soon!

So much work, so little space! Last week we had to say goodbye to our 2024-2025 vehicle to make space for our new build to move in. We cut our first chassis tubes yesterday, and we’re so ready to see it all come together. Sko buffs!

We’re back in full swing! Back in the fall we had to do a quick fix on our steering adapter, so there was a ton of excess material. Last week we finally got into the shop to machine down our profile and save some weight.
