🌴 Resort Review: Princess Senses the Mangrove, Jamaica 🇯🇲

I recently spent 5 days and 4 nights at Princess Senses the Mangrove, one of Jamaica's newest adults-only resorts located in Green Island, just outside of Lucea—and it definitely lived up to its reputation as the resort for sunsets.

✨ My Highlights:

✔️ Every suite offers an ocean view
✔️ Spacious accommodations with soaking tubs and oversized balconies
✔️ 14 dining venues, including specialty restaurants and a food truck experience
✔️ Multiple pools with different vibes throughout the property
✔️ 24-hour coffee shop serving pastries, ice cream, and specialty drinks
✔️ Club Mobay continues to be worth every penny for expedited airport processing and lounge access
✔️ Ideal for couples, girls' trips, solo travelers, reunions, and even multigenerational celebrations thanks to the family resort located on the adjacent side of the complex

My Deluxe Junior Suite was beautifully appointed and the sunset views from the balcony were absolutely breathtaking. The property is expansive, well-maintained, and designed to provide a relaxing, upscale Caribbean escape.

One of my favorite surprises? The variety of dining options and the ability to find a different atmosphere depending on which pool or area of the resort you chose throughout the day.

Would I return? Absolutely.

IT'S NATIONAL PLAN FOR VACATION DAY!

The National Plan for Vacation Day was created with the purpose to remind Americans to take time to go on vacation. Specifically, by planning for the year by mapping out and utilizing their PTO. Studies have shown that American workers that use their PTO and/or go on vacations are happier!😁

In this current time, the whimsical of today's intent varies for different people. There are many without steady employment, to those barely holding on, to many transitioning to new roles and opporunities, to others hanging up the mantel after decades of service. The goal should be to always have something to look forward to, where you can rest, relax, and let go from the "responsibility of life".

When you have a lot going on and juggling a variety of things, planning for a vacation - domestic or international- can feel so overwhelming! Here are a few tips to help you out:

1. Know your PTO- At the top of the year with the first pay period, you will be able to see your projected leave for the year. Have a plan on how you want to spend your time outside of normal obligations.

2. Know your dates - There are certain events that happen every.single.year on or near that exact.same.date like birthdays, anniversaries, holiday's. You may want to avoid heavy tourist seasons, or you want to be in the thick of the action. You may be able to go for multiple weeks to multiple countries or you may only be able to take quick trips over multiple weekends.

3. Know your money - Travel is not cheap...even with DIY and low-budget options. There are some destinations that are not only expensive traveling TO but also vacationing IN. Lock-in a great vacation price by depositing early and paying over time. Waiting to late can increase prices or prevent from sell-out.

4. Know the professional - Elevate your life by hiring me as your travel consultant! I help you create space, ease, and pleasure in your life through travel design. Velvet Passports is for you...

In 2022, when I went to the Maldives, it wasn’t even on my destination bucket list! During the pandemic, I was scheduled to go to a different country but due to restrictions, I decided to cancel. At the same time, my then travel advisor posted her recent visit to the Maldives...and I was sold! I transferred my previous trip balance to this new trip and planned to celebrate my 40th year in a big way. Was this a major investment? Yes.
