This kitchen tells a before and after story we won’t forget.

Before, it felt closed in and outdated—like it hadn’t quite found its place in the home. Now, it’s open, bright, and built to be the center of it all. Every choice was made to keep things simple, clean, and welcoming while still honoring the character that was already here.

It’s the kind of space where people naturally gather—around the island, over a meal, or just in conversation.

If you’re looking for a place to bring people together—whether it’s friends, family, your team, or a special celebration like a baby shower or graduation—this kitchen (and this home) was made for that.

One of our favorite things about House on Main is creating spaces that bring people together. From classic board games and puzzles to little moments of friendly competition, we’ve stocked the house with ways to unplug, laugh, and make memories together.

Whether it’s a late-night game of Clue, kids discovering a new favorite, or friends gathered around the table, the best moments here usually start with, ā€œWant to play a game?ā€

Come stay, slow down, and enjoy the simple fun that makes a house feel like home. šŸŽ²āœØ

It’s hard to believe this is the same room.

Before, it was covered in busy wallpaper, darker tones, and honestly just felt like a space you passed through without noticing. The bones were always beautiful — they were just hidden.

Now, it’s one of our favorite spots in the house. Bold color brings the architecture back to life, built-in seating gives people a place to slow down, and the art adds a little personality and fun. What used to feel forgotten now feels intentional and welcoming.

Proof that sometimes a space just needs a little vision (and a lot of love) to shine again. ✨

When we bought the home, this fireplace was completely covered and painted fire-engine red. As we peeled back the layers, we uncovered the original brick hidden underneath!

We carefully restored it — keeping some of its natural character — and worked with a chimney expert to make it safe and usable again.

If you stay with us, tell us… can you spot any of the old paint?! 😮

Why is Mona Lisa plugging her nose?!

Don’t take it personally that is just some of our fun art that can be found throughout the house.

This one is in a powder room off of the main level of the home. It didn’t exist before, in fact there was a giant hole on that side of the house. We decided you would prefer another bathroom during your stay.

Comment if you would like to book with us and check out the fun art in our space!

You’ll never guess what we found in the attic at the House on Main!?

Lot’s of people ask us if we found anything fun in the house and the answer is yes! Lot’s of things, but one of them in particular was some old newspaper clippings. Check out these pictures of some of the ads. They aren’t 1700s old, but they remind us of how far we’ve come as a society since this house was built.

If you want to reminisce for an extended stay, leave a comment and we can send you some dates!
