The Champ Clark House - Honeyshuck It is our mission to restore and maintain, display, interpret and promote this home with its furnish

Honeyshuck is the lovely old restored two-story front-gable-and-wing frame home of James Beauchamp “Champ” Clark. The home displays furnishings and memorabilia and is named “Honeyshuck” for the yard’s honey locusts, whose shucks fall to the ground. The home was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976.

Well… the votes are in and for the third year in a row the Praire’s Edge tree at The Champ Clark House - Honeyshuck Festival of Trees during Christmas in the Green was chosen as the Fan Favorite! Way to go Tonya L. Teasley and team! In total we raised nearly $1000 to maintain this stunning historic treasure in our community and had more than 100 visitors to Honeyshuck. Thanks to all who toured, voted, served as a hostess/host or decorated a tree this year!

We had great fun roasting Walter Logan. He was a terrific sport and we raised money to help maintain Honeyshuck, Champ Clark's home in Bowling Green. Thank you, Walter.

We also celebrated Charlene McCune, a long-time board member who has provided wisdom, service, dedication and enthusiasm to the board of Honeyshuck. Charlene is retiring from the board at the end of this year. Thank you, Charlene!

The Champ Clark House--Honeyshuck--will be open for tours on Heritage Day, Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are excited to share with our visitors a display of old telephones. Stop by Honeyshuck on Saturday to see these interesting devices that are a part of our heritage.

Honeyshuck is participating in the all town yard sale on Saturday, June 7. We have cleaned out our closets and will be set up in the parking lot behind the annex next door to Honeyshuck.
