We love this project for so many reasons! Soon, the Mecca Theater will return to Chase City in all its glory, thanks to the hard work and dedication of Beverly Wood and Save Our Heritage!

A lot of folks ask me how things are going with the Mecca Theatre Project. The answer:

GREAT!!

We have been working on this since 2017 and everything is falling into place. It may seem slow, but it is covering a lot of things.

Not only the details of the renovation, but the developing of relationships with people in town and in the community. The journey has been wonderful.

I have met so many people who love Chase City and want to see the Mecca Theatre open and thriving!

With the awarding of the DHR Preservation 250 Grant, giving us $750,000 to complete Phase 1, the front of the theatre, lobby, concessions, bathroom.

When complete, we will be able to have meeting and hold gatherings in the theatre, as we continue with Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the renovation.

THIS IS DESTINY! WE WILL HAVE THE MECCA THEATRE BACK! 😊
