Band-rumped Storm-Petrel and Parasitic Jaeger were among the highlights of this weekend’s pelagics! We also tallied Wilson’s Storm-Petrels, Cory’s and Scopoli’s Shearwaters, Brown Bo***es, Magnificent Frigatebirds, and Bridled and Black Terns. A nice variety of seabirds offshore as fall migration continues!

We caught a beautiful break between the recent rains for this morning’s Audubon Everglades fall pelagic! Ocean conditions were fantastic, though bird numbers were low overall.

It was great to see everyone and welcome a few folks on their very first pelagic trip. Thanks to everyone who joined us for a morning offshore!

Palm Beach Pelagics 2027 trips are now on sale.

We’ve made a few changes for 2027 to make booking simpler and give everyone more flexibility:

• Public trips are now $230 per person, with taxes and Eventbrite fees included

• Private charters are $700 for the boat, up to 4 passengers

• New 2027 Six-Ticket Pass: $1,200, saving $180 over six individual trips

• Optional pre-trip gratuities are now available during checkout

• All available trip dates can now be viewed and booked through one recurring event page

Tickets for April thru July are on sale now, with more dates to be added as the season progresses.

As always, trips are approximately five hours and depart from Boynton Beach in search of seabirds and other offshore wildlife.

We’re excited to get back offshore this weekend!

We recently traded the Gulf Stream for the agricultural fields of western Palm Beach County, where we co-led two incredibly productive trips. Highlights included Ruffs, a godwit, and a new state-record high count of Wilson’s Phalaropes!

Now we’re ready to turn east and see what awaits us beyond the inlet!

Mark your calendars! Audubon Everglades is hosting a Pelagic Birding Adventure on Saturday, September 19. Kyle Matera and I will be guiding this offshore trip out of Boynton Beach.

In previous years, this trip has produced Long-tailed Jaeger, Sooty Shearwater, and Masked B***y. September is a great time to get offshore as the weather begins to turn and fall migration is fully underway.
