All of our tours are equipped with binoculars for each person, and high powered Vortex Optics spotting scopes!

Yellowstone is vast country, and wildlife can be anywhere. These optics allow us to get the best views while keeping a safe distance to ensure we are not disturbing the animals. This way, we get to watch their most natural behaviors without being influenced by our presence.

Bonus feature: we can take pictures and videos for you through the scope!

Taking a quick dip to cool off! 🫎

Moose are considered semi-aquatic animals, spending much of their time in lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. A large portion of their diet consists of aquatic plants which provides them with much needed sodium that they don’t get from the browse that they eat on land.

Moose are also extremely heat intolerant, beginning to feel heat-stressed once temperatures get over 50 degrees Fahrenheit! Moose thrive in winter, so they are much happier in freezing temperatures than they are on a mild summer day. The water helps to keep them cool and comfortable.

Their aquatic habits have earned them the nickname “swamp donkey”, and we can see why!

What a treat to watch this peregrine falcon feeding chicks in the nest!

Peregrine falcons, the fastest animal on the planet, nest in high cliffs. They don’t build traditional nests like many other birds, but instead create a “scrape”, a depression in the soil where they lay a clutch of 3-5 eggs.

Having the opportunity to get to watch them raising their young is one of countless reasons why Yellowstone is such an amazing and exciting place for nature lovers!

This is quite the playground for these young bighorn sheep!

Bighorn sheep lambs are remarkably sure-footed within just a few days from birth, able to navigate steep rocky slopes and rugged mountain terrain. Their balance, agility, and specially adapted hooves help to keep them safe from predators in the wild.

Our tour yesterday got to witness this brand new bison calf’s first steps into the world!

With his ever encouraging new mother, he stumbles at first but knows he must get to his feet quickly. In no time, he’s having his first meal!
