Congratulations to everyone involved in today's ribbon (chain)-cutting and grand opening of the Breaking Point Disc Golf Course at Occoneechee State Park!

This exciting new 18-hole course, designed by professional disc golfer Matt Bell, is the third disc golf course in the Virginia State Parks system and is poised to become a premier destination for players throughout Virginia and the East Coast.

Nestled among the beautiful woodlands and scenic shoreline of Kerr Reservoir, the Breaking Point Disc Golf Course offers visitors a unique outdoor recreation experience while showcasing the natural beauty that makes Occoneechee State Park such a special destination.

We were honored to join park staff, local and state officials, community leaders, supporters, and disc golf enthusiasts as they celebrated this tremendous addition to Mecklenburg County's outdoor recreation offerings.

Special thanks to the Friends of Occoneechee State Park, Virginia State Parks, Microsoft, Baker Construction, park rangers, volunteers, and all those whose vision and support helped make this project a reality.

Whether you're an experienced disc golfer or trying the sport for the first time, be sure to visit Occoneechee State Park and experience the Breaking Point Disc Golf Course for yourself!
