Tailing Tales Fishing Charters is focused on providing light tackle inshore / nearshore fishing charters in Sarasota and the lower Tampa Bay areas including Anna Maria Island, Bradenton and Boca Grande. Captain Kris Winkel has extensive knowledge and experience fishing the Sarasota and Tampa Bay areas, having lived and fished these inshore / nearshore waters his entire life. Sarasota and Tampa Bay

are Florida's largest estuary, with vast numbers of grass flats, creeks, shoals, mangroves and shore lines to fish. This area is home to a variety of fish species and great fishing spots including the Skyway Bridge, Egmont Key, Manatee River, Terra Ceia Bay, Sarasota Bay down to Boca Grande. The most common and sought after sportfish are Tarpon, Snook, Snapper, Redfish, Trout & Triple Tail. Fishing the inshore waters of Sarasota and Tampa Bay are for the whole family, with calm shallow waters not far from shore and an abundance of wildlife to see make Tampa Bay, Sarasota and Bradenton an ideal location for a family fishing vacation. Tailing Tales Fishing Charters accommodates all levels of experience, from first-timers ages 5 years old and up to seasoned pros, if you can hold a pole (or not), you are welcome to come along. Remember, if a particular species isn't cooperating that day, there is something else always biting in these warm Florida waters. So join me on a Sarasota or Tampa Bay fishing charter for an unforgettable adventure!

Great winter fishing this year. Slowly sliding away from the shrimp fishing and starting to catch Bait. Snook fishing should start to takeoff as it warms up. Also anticipating some kingfish, Bonita and sharks to follow. The winter was a little cooler than normal. So the warming trend is nice to see. Book the days you want not the days that are left.

Not much winter here in Florida. However, Fishing was great this year. Thankful for the new clients that joined along the way. Looking forward to 2026,freshened up the boat a little bit with some extra add ons to catch more. Started booking for this new year get the days you desire not the days that are left.
