Australia Travel Expert I have a passion for Australia. I am uniquely honored to be a Premier Aussie Specialist with Tourism Australia. Designing custom vacation itineraries.

Visit Boomerang Escapes for more information. You will also find my book, Awakened in Australia, there. I was born with travel in my blood. Having moved since birth, living in ten different states, I have a natural wandering soul. I love change and all things new. My passion: Australia! I have been in love with this country for as long as I can remember. Every school report was written about one

of its unique and amazing animals. My room was filled with stuffed koalas and even a koala latch hook rug. I had (still have) a collection of picture clippings from magazines. But, it truly began, in 2008, when I was introduced to the travel industry and became an independent travel consultant. In 2010, I stumbled upon Tourism Australia’s website and entered their Aussie specialist program. In 2011, I was contacted by them and offered a chance of a lifetime to travel to Australia for a tour, followed by Coroborree (A gathering of agents and operators for intense product training and fun!). I could hardly contain my excitement! When I arrived in Sydney and within hours laid hands and eyes on a koala, I was brought to tears. I was forever changed by my trip “down under”. My hope is to share this love and passion with you. I truly believe travel transforms us and broadens our love and appreciation for life. I currently reside in Old Bridge, NJ after spending the last 13 years in TN. I am mom to three amazing teenagers. In my spare time I love being involved with my children’s activities, working out, bowling, cooking, and socializing poolside with friends. In 2015, my love of fitness and travel collided to create Be Fit To Travel. Be Fit To Travel has become an extension of Boomerang Escapes-Return to Your Happy Place. I am not only here to send you on the most fabulous escapes ever, but can also guide you to looking and feeling great when you travel. My goal is to inspire people to stay young, active, healthy, and ready for adventure...creating transformations of the mind, body, and soul through diet, exercise, and travel.

One of the best ways to experience Australia is through your taste buds.

Sure, Australia is known for its iconic landmarks, wildlife, and stunning landscapes.

But one of my favorite ways to connect with a destination is through its food and wine.

Whether it's fresh seafood by the coast, a long lunch at a winery, locally grown produce, or a flat white enjoyed at a neighborhood café, every meal tells a story about the place you're visiting.

One of the things I enjoyed most on this recent trip was discovering uniquely Australian flavors and meeting the people behind them. A stop along the Sunshine Coast led us to this cute place where you can enjoy and purchase native Australian herbs, spices, and bush food.

What's the first food or drink you seek out when visiting somewhere new?

Australia is one of those places.

The more you explore, the more beauty you discover.

One of the things I appreciate most about Australia is that no two trips are ever the same.

I've explored tropical rainforests, coastal towns, wine regions, islands, deserts, and bustling cities.

Yet every time I visit, I discover something new, like this shell on Pergian Beach that I have yet to identify. lol (and no, it did not come home with me)

Little discoveries like this are what keep me coming back because I've seen it all.

But I want to 😁

Australia has that way of reminding me that there is always another road to take, another story to hear, and another place to explore.

What destination makes you feel that way?

One of the things I love most about travel is how it brings people together.

The memories that last aren't usually the flights, hotels, or even the destinations themselves.

They're the moments shared with family and friends along the way.

This wonderful family explored Australia together, creating memories that will last far longer than any souvenir they brought home.

On Father's Day, I'm reminded that some of life's best gifts aren't things at all. They're experiences, adventures, and the stories we continue to tell long after the trip is over.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who help make those memories possible.

A few moments from my latest Australia adventure.

Looking back through my photos, I'm reminded that the highlights of a trip aren't always the big-ticket attractions.

Sometimes it's spotting wildlife in the wild.

A scenic drive that makes you pull over for a photo.

A coastal view that doesn't seem real.

A conversation with a local.

A place you had never heard of before arriving.

Those are often the moments that stay with me long after I return home.

Watch this reel with a few of my favorites from this recent journey Down Under.

When you picture Australia, what comes to mind?

Sydney Harbour?

The Outback?

The Great Barrier Reef?

Those places are incredible, but one of the things I love most about Australia is how much variety you'll find from region to region.

Over the years, I've explored tropical rainforests, rugged coastlines, wine regions, islands, deserts, and mountain landscapes—all within the same state.

That's part of what keeps me coming back.

Australia is never just one thing.

It's been a few weeks since I returned home from Australia, and there are plenty of things I miss.

The wildlife.

The scenery.

The coastal drives.

But what I miss most is the feeling.

The feeling of slowing down.

Of taking the scenic route.

Of discovering somewhere new around the next bend.

Australia has a way of reminding me that travel isn't about checking places off a list. It's about being present for the experience.

That's something I'm trying to bring home with me this time.

What's a destination that still crosses your mind long after you've returned home?

Some of my favorite places in Australia weren't on my first itinerary.

They were the places I discovered after I started venturing a little farther.

A coastal town recommended by a local.

A scenic drive that wasn't on the original plan.

A stop that was supposed to be quick but ended up becoming a highlight.

That's one of the things I love most about Australia. The more you explore, the more there is to discover.

Sometimes the best memories happen when you take the road less traveled.

Have you ever stumbled upon a place that became the highlight of your trip?

06/16/2026

Most travelers picture Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, and Uluru when they think of Australia.

And they're not wrong.

But some of my favorite experiences have happened far from the icons.

In wine regions.
On coastal drives.
In small towns.
During unexpected wildlife encounters.

Australia's famous landmarks are incredible.

But the places between them often become the stories people remember most.

When you travel, do you prefer the famous sights or the hidden gems?

Every time I return from Australia, I find myself thinking about the places I didn't have time to see.

Not because the trip was lacking.

Because Australia is one of those destinations where the more you explore, the more there is to discover.

A hidden beach.
A country town.
A hiking trail.
A wildlife encounter.
A recommendation from a local.

No matter how many times I visit, I always leave with a growing list of things to see for "next time."

What's a destination you've visited that still has you dreaming about going back?
