Prince Rupert, B.C. A new port of call for me. As always Canada welcomed us with open arms. I visited the Sunken Gardens and the museum. Both were delightful. Two sea days and then back home. Overall it was a wonderful trip. ❤️Alaska ❤️🇨🇦

Some people say Ketchikan is overly touristy. Yes that can be true, but it only takes a few extra steps and a keen eye to find authentic Alaskan charm and natures beauty. The salmon were fighting hard to get up the creek.

Sitka showed off as the clouds cleared. The day started with a wildlife cruise where we saw whales, sea otters, and bald eagles. The coolest thing was the smack of jellyfish, literally millions of them. They looked like a cloud in the water. Later we walked around the historic downtown. Another lovely and warm Alaskan August day.

Sitka showed off on a sunny and calm day. We began with a wildlife cruise and spotted many whales, a raft of sea otters and a bald eagle. The highlight of the trip was the smack of jellyfish, literally thousands. At first it looked like cloudy water. What a treat. After lunch we walked around historic Sitka downtown. What a lovely Alaskan August day.

I enjoyed a challenging hike along the Chilkoot trail followed by a float down the Teya River just outside Skagway. During the Klondike gold rush miners would hike 33 miles to search for their fortunes. No gold, but there were cookies at the end of the trip. It was also the hottest day of the year.
