Can I be transparent for a minute?
One of the hardest parts about owning a small business is that so much of what people see isn’t the whole story.
When you see my family traveling, it’s easy to assume my travel business is constantly booming. The reality is that most of our vacations are ones we’ve planned, saved for, and paid for ourselves because travel is something we genuinely value. We make it a priority, and every trip helps me learn more so I can better serve the families who trust me with theirs.
What many people don’t see are the hours spent behind the scenes—training, certifications, destination research, comparing resorts, watching for promotions, helping clients save money, and answering questions long after the booking is made. It’s work that I truly love because I love helping people create memories.
One thing I’ve realized is that many people simply don’t know what a travel advisor actually does.
I’m not here to take over your vacation planning unless you want me to. I can be as involved—or as hands-off—as you’d like. If you want me to handle every detail, I’m happy to. If you just want someone to book your trip, watch for discounts, and be there if something comes up, I can do that too.
