Some of you may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter than usual — and there’s a good reason! As a small, family- and veteran-owned business, life can get exciting. My husband is still active-duty Army, and in December we made the big move to England! 🇬🇧✨

It took us a bit to settle into our new home (as you can imagine!), but BioTrek is still proudly based in Virginia, and we’re beyond excited to jump back in with some incredible adventures for 2026 and 2027.

Our second stop in Nepal: Chitwan National Park! 🌿🐘 Nestled along the Indian border, this wildlife haven boasts the world’s second-largest rhino population. Over three thrilling days of river, jeep, and walking safaris, we observed more than 40 majestic Asian rhinos, along with sloth bears, elephants, crocodiles, and playful monkeys. 🦏🐊

For birding enthusiasts, Chitwan is pure paradise—our group spotted an incredible 52 species! 🦜✨ We also visited a local village, immersing ourselves in the rich culture and heartfelt stories of the community. An unforgettable experience in the wild heart of Nepal! 💚

🌸🎨 From the Road: HOLI in Kathmandu! 🎉🇳🇵

Today, we jumped headfirst into one of the most vibrant, wild, and joyful celebrations on Earth—Holi! Kathmandu was absolutely electric, with color flying through the air, music filling the streets, and pure happiness all around.

Originally, people exchanged paint as a way to forgive and renew friendships, but today, it's a full-blown festival where strangers become friends in a whirlwind of color, laughter, and celebration.

After the festivities, we got hands-on in the kitchen, learning to make traditional Momos with our Nepalese hosts. 🥟✨ Sharing stories over food is one of the best ways to connect, and tonight, we felt truly at home.

Holi in Nepal isn’t just something you see—it’s something you feel. And trust us, you want to experience this for yourself. Who’s in for our next trip? 🌍🔥

📍 From the Road: Nepal Edition! 🇳🇵

Our Nepal adventure is off to an unforgettable start! 🌏✨

The day began before sunrise with a breathtaking Mount Everest fly-by, offering jaw-dropping views of the world's highest peak. From there, we explored the vibrant Durbar Square, home to the former Nepal Royal Palace and the palace of the Kumari, Nepal’s revered living goddess.

Next, we climbed to the iconic Swayambhu Mahachaitya—better known as the Monkey Temple—where ancient stupas and prayer flags overlook the Kathmandu Valley. To end the day, we visited the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, where open-air cremation rituals take place along the holy Bagmati River, a powerful and moving experience.

What an extraordinary way to kick off this journey! Stay tuned for more from Nepal! 🏔️🙏
