Last night I had the opportunity to tour the Lehigh Valley International Airport. This airport has gotten so beautiful and is so updated. If you haven’t flown out of there recently you should. They updated the TSA area which has the capability of having four lanes open at once. They have new restaurants, a bar in the middle of the main gate area, a Dunkin Donuts stand, a sensory room for anyone that needs a quiet area to regroup before their flight, a military room for our military people with more comfortable seating for them to relax, a pet relief area for our furry family members, and a kids play room. They recently changed their gates so now if you are taking the American Airlines bus from ABE to Philadelphia you have a nice gate to wait at and then just walk outside to the curb to get on your bus. No more walking down a concrete stairwell to get to your bus. They have discontinued their United bus service to Newark but they have several nonstop destinations, like Denver, Chicago, Nashville, Myrtle Beach, Charlotte, and several destinations in Florida. And for the future there are plans to build a parking garage to accommodate all the travelers flying out of ABE. They are also building a Courtyard by Marriott right at the airport. Oh, and they have a couple of adorable airport dogs to offer passengers encouragement and make them smile. So for your next trip consider flying out of ABE and enjoy your hometown airport experience.
