Effective Monday, January 10, Anzalduas Park will be open for the general public. Visitors must respect park guidelines and stay away from restricted areas.

MIGRATION ALERT! The cold front isn't just bringing cooler temps, wind, and lower humidity...it's also bringing in migrating birds, many passing right through Central Texas. HIGH migration activity expected tonight. The forecast for tonight is 192 million migrating birds! The live map shows 50 million in the air right now!

I get calls and messages quite often about "Flamingo" sightings.

Most of the time it is a Roseate Spoonbill, but sometimes, like once in a lifetime, it actually is a Greater Flamingo.

I was lucky enough to see this bird last week.

I am not sure if it is still there, but it would be a great opportunity to see a rare bird. This is only the second record of this White-Crowned Dove seen in Texas.

A bird rarely seen in the Valley lands in South Padre Island.
