We ask that every participant wear cloth face masks during tours except when eating, maintain social distances, use hand sanitizer as appropriate, and follow Leave No Trace protocols. We offer private in-person workshops and interactive online workshops through Zoom on a specific outdoor topics such as coastal navigation, map & compass, weather for the outdoors person, winter camping, Malaga Island - Maine history and Registered Maine Guide preparation.

Map & Compass skills are critical to anyone that wants to explore Maine's fields, forests, waters, and drive on our back roads. Cellular service is spotty at best so trying to use a phone app will not always get you safely home.

Maps and compasses do NOT let you down! They do not need electrical service, cell towers, satellites, and batteries!

The best birthday's are full of surprises. A surprise sea kayak trip with Alice's Awesome Adventures took this family out on Casco Bay on a mirror calm water Saturday morning. When Master Maine Guide Alice discovered that Jesse was having a birthday, she made sure that Jesse had an awesome adventure! When we landed on a small beach on an island after having a harbor seal watch us while we spied a common loon preening herself as we paddled by, Alice created a surprise birthday party for Jesse with a cake, candles, and Happy Birthday napkins. Happy Birthday Jesse!

Within 30 minutes of our return to our launch point, the wind kicked up to produce white caps and happy sailboats!

Oysters are gifts from the sea! Farmed oysters are easier to get as opposed to cutting them off rocks. Oysters filter our sea water and put oxygen back into the water! They don't need to be fed as the water that they are living in provides all the nutrients that they need! We visited Mere Point Oyster Company's farm.

This group of paddlers with Master Maine Guide Alice learned about lobstering and how oysters are farmed. They sighted harbor seals, bald eagles, great blue herons, and a snowy egret while on tour. We landed on a tiny island to have our stretch break. Alice taught how to shuck oysters which everyone mastered and then on to the best part of the tour - slurping! Sauces included: lemon juice, chipotle tabasco sauce, and Alice's Maine Wild Blueberry Mignonette Sauce. What a wonderful trip!

We got rain overnight for the first time since August 3rd! Not a drizzle or a shower lasting a minute. R A I N !!!! Too windy today to lead kayaking trips. Oyster Farm and Complimentary Tasting Tour Friday morning and a Sea Kayak to an Island tour on Saturday should have great weather.
