The Palace Theater in Downtown Bryan has a long history. 🎶 It was originally built as Bryan's City Hall and an Opera House in 1909.

This weekend, it's a VIP venue for the Bryan TX Songwriter Festival(which also has a free main stage open to the public on 29th and Main St). A limited number of VIP tickets will be available to purchase on-site this weekend. 🤠🎶

In the 1920s, it became a movie theater that offered Vaudeville stage shows and new "talking" films, which continued to be shown at The Palace until the 1980s. 🎬

When the movie theater closed in the 80s, StageCenter Community Theatre used it for live performances—until the roof caved in during a thunderstorm in 1986. ⛈️

The storm caused major structural damages, but the bones of the building were preserved and The Palace was transformed into an open-air music venue. The stage is original to the building, and now there's also a bar, patio area, fire pits, and concert seating. 🎶

This historic spot is is a go-to for live entertainment in Historic Downtown Bryan.

Today, The Palace has:

🎤 Weekly open mic nights on Wednesday
🏈 Gameday watch parties for Texas A&M and NFL games during football season
🌟 Cultural performances during community events

At this local boutique in Historic Downtown Bryan, everything is imported in from different regions of Mexico. 🇲🇽

ITZA BIP has authentic huaraches, clothes, jewelry, and decor from different Mexican states like Yucatan and Puebla.

Boutique owner, Blanca, is originally from Montemorelos and has been a Bryan resident for 30 years. When she lived in Mexico, she had a store like Itza Bip, except she sold items imported from America, like clothes from Hollister and American Eagle.

She opened Itza Bip in 2019, and despite the hardships of 2020, she kept her boutique open by delivering dresses and selling tamales on the street. 🫔 Over the past 7 years, Blanca's boutique has become a popular staple in Downtown.

You might also see Blanca around town, dancing with Ballet Folklórico Viva México . She sells a lot of different folklorico dresses at ITZA BIP, along with maroon clothes for gamedays, men and women's shirts, blankets, keychains, and more.
