From a trickle to a roar. The river falls in a chaotic yet organized descent over Wallace Falls. It’s easy to love this hike. Rainy days make the ferns drip and bleeding hearts line the early part of the trail ❤️.

Make this hike part of your visit to Seattle.

The White River at Mount Rainier National Park!
And let us just say that water is COLD. Coming straight off the Emmons Glacier. 🥶🥶

It’s just one of our guides’ favorite spots where you can FEEL the mountain as the river flows over your feet and you can dig your toes into the glacial silt.

While the mountains are getting absolutely dumped on with snow, we’re over here daydreaming about warm summer trails, wildflower meadows, and big views at Mount Rainier National Park. ☀️🏔️

One of our favorite summer adventures is hiking the stunning Burroughs Mountain Trail — a high-elevation trail that feels like stepping into another world. Think sweeping alpine ridgelines, marmots whistling across the tundra, and unbelievably close views of the glaciers on Mount Rainier.

Our guided Mt Rainier day hikes with Adventures In Seattle make it easy to experience this iconic trail:
✨ Small group guided hiking experience
✨ Door-to-trailhead transportation from Seattle
✨ Expert local guides who know the mountain inside and out
✨ Stress-free planning so you can just soak in the views

So while winter keeps piling snow onto the mountain… we’re counting down the days until summer hiking season at Mt Rainier. And trust us — the Burroughs Mountain hike is worth the wait. 🌿

Dreaming of summer too? Now is the perfect time to plan your Mt Rainier hiking tour.

It’s official. Mt Rainier will not require timed entry at any entrances in 2026.

Expect long lines at the gates on weekends, holidays and busy entry times.

If you’d rather take a nap in the car instead of driving - consider booking a Mt Rainier Hiking Tour with us. Transportation is included so you can snooze the whole way there. And no buses here - we don’t take more than five people plus guide so you don’t have to worry about a stranger snoring on your shoulder.

We always say “take only photos and leave only footprints” in keeping with our Leave No Trace Principles but we do indeed take more from our time in the forest.

But it’s a sort of intangible gift. One where your soul expands and your spirit feels lighter. Where the mist upon your face replaces tears and the soft tread beneath your feet offers unwavering support and grounding.

Whatever you are seeking…we are happy to be your guide into nature.

Always small groups - never more than five plus guide and we run solo trips so you never have to worry about being canceled because there aren’t enough guests.

It’s been a light snow year so far but we haven’t let it stop us from taking advantage of some absolutely stellar days up on Mount Rainier.

Snowshoeing at Mt Rainier can be breathtaking - and also dangerous.

In winter trails are just a suggestion given snow hiding the usual routes and we recommend being well versed in navigation, be prepared with the ten essentials, and have good avalanche awareness before venturing into the mountains. Or - you can go with us and we’ll take care of you - a safe, memorable experience where you get to relax and enjoy the hike. After all…you are on vacation!

Breathe in. Let the mist settle. Exhale everything you don’t need.
There’s something about standing beside a waterfall that slows your heart rate and brings you right back into your body.

Wallace Falls is one of my favorite places to reconnect with nature—especially on rainy days. The forest smells richer, the waterfalls roar louder, and the crowds thin out. This guided Wallace Falls hiking tour is all about moving mindfully, breathing deeply, and letting the trail do its thing.

If you’re craving a grounding escape just outside Seattle, this hike is perfect for slowing down, finding peace, and embracing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest—rain and all 🌲☔️

It may have been raining. It may have been cold. But when I have a group like this of awesome women spanning different ages and life experiences, I love it.

Myra had called me the night before on New Year’s Eve. I was two glasses into a bottle of bubbly and looked at the phone with a Pennsylvania number. “Who in the world is calling me at this hour” I thought.

Myra was calling. An amazing young lady with gumption that just moved to WA and wanted to go snowshoeing with us the next day. “Hell yeah!”

Claire and Hope - two badass sisters that have traveled the world. Claire has run more marathons than I have fingers and toes. Hope has been making her own destiny since she was in her 20s.

None of these ladies had been snowshoeing before so they trusted me to show them the ropes, teach them about the equipment and share my knowledge about avalanche safety with them.

And in the end we even found fresh snow and had a magical experience in nature. We started as strangers and felt like friends at the end. This is what being a guide is about for me.

Want to join me? I am currently offering guided snowshoe trips at Crystal Mountain. Perfect for beginners or those that don’t want to drive in the snow! Link in bio.
