Chasing waterfalls at Mount Rainier National Park 💦🏔️

Grand Park Fire 2:

• Location: North of Mount Rainier near Grand Park
• Status: Limited official reporting (very early)
• Size: ~200 acres (rough estimate)

What’s Confirmed:

• The fire exists and was actively burning in the Mount Rainier region.
• It had grown to a few hundred acres at the time of initial reporting.
• Access to Sunrise & White River areas are temporarily closed via SR 410 on 8/7/2026

What’s Unclear:

• No reported containment
• If it’s officially crossed into the park boundary
• No official cause

⚠️ This is a developing situation:
Please respect the closures and consider alternative plans. We don’t want to impede ANY emergency efforts to contain the fire.

Some days we go off script…rather than our usual route up Thunder K**b in North Cascades National Park our guest Tiffany was up for a bit more of an adventure! Cue Maple Pass Loop. The flowers were popping and the views were on point. Even got a little summer snow.

Another beautiful day on the mountain 😍. Wildflowers are coming in strong with mountain heather everywhere. Burroughs Mountain Trail is our favorite for wildflowers because we pass through both the forest and the high alpine tundra on this hike. Amazing the environments the flowers can survive in.

Another update from the trail!

Snow is quickly melting and the wildflowers are coming on fast and strong! Spotted today: lupine, pasqueflower, lousewort, kitten tail, magenta paintbrush, Scarlett paintbrush, purple aster, cusick’s speedwell, white - yellow - and pink mountain heather, rock penstemon and more!

Sunrise is open and we are back up on Burroughs Mountain for the summer hiking season!

Early melt out means no scary snow crossings en route to Second Burrough. We will be guiding hikes up there all week so will let you all know when all the snow is gone but it’s a safe and easy crossing on the small ones that are there.

Burroughs Mountain is our favorite hike to share with you! Guided hikes daily if you don’t want to go it alone. ❤️
