Time is running out to take advantage of EARLY BIRD pricing! 😱 With a multitude of distances available — including a 15-, 32- and 47-mile ride — the route is well marked and flat with little traffic. The 15-mile route can be broken down into distances of 8, 11 and 13 miles.

Registration for the long ride is $25 before Aug. 1 and will increase to $30 after.

The 2023 Best “Wurst” Bike Ride offers cyclists of all ages and abilities the opportunity to explore the Crawford County countryside, riding along a trail of local flora and farms. This ride is offered to complement the local Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival.

Did you know the Crawford County History Alliance kick off a new Summer Passport Program for adults and kids in April? 🧭

Grab your Crawford County passport and collect as many stamps as you can throughout the summer to earn prizes and learn about the rich history behind the beautiful fields and growing cities. The program will culminate with two weekend bus trips to all eleven places in late September and early October.

Did you know Johnny Appleseed was a living person? 🍎

John Chapman travelled throughout Ohio, planting and tending to his apple trees while also sharing medicinal plants with settlers and local Indigenous tribes. He even came to Bucyrus!

Planning any activities for April 8, 2024 will be a bit of a challenge since the state is anticipating our area will receive tens of thousands people visiting on that day. On Monday, April 8, 2024, people within a 124 mile-wide band in the state of Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse. The last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806. The Crawford County History Alliance is holding its first History Fair on April 23, from 1-4 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center. The History Fair is your chance to begin collecting stamps to complete the new History Passport!
