Extreme temperatures can become dangerous quickly. Protect yourself and your loved ones by taking a few simple precautions:
๐ง Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
โ๏ธ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
๐ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
๐ Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle.
๐ Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
๐ Check on family members, neighbors, and friends who may be vulnerable to the heat.
Know the warning signs:
โ ๏ธ Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and headache.
๐จ Heat Stroke: High body temperature, confusion, loss of consciousness, and hot, dry skin. Heat stroke is a medical emergencyโcall 911 immediately.
