SHARON, Pa. — In Mercer County, Pennsylvania there’s a perfect spot for you to kick back and step back to the 19th century at Tara A Country Inn.

"The building was built in 1854, so Civil War era. It was built as a square, federal-style, red-brick farmhouse," said Laura Ackley, director of marketing.

A Country Inn in Sharon, Pa., was born in the mid-19th century and repurposed more than a 100 years later.

"Thirty-five years ago, we opened and added the two wings. Now, instead of five guest rooms, we have 27 guest rooms," Ackley said.

If the name sounds familiar, it's ripped right out of American literature. The building was named and modeled after the home in the famous Gone with the Wind. (The movie version, of course, starring Ohio Valley native Clark Gable).

There are also indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a billiards room, and a laundry list of priceless antiques.

"The antiques in the building are exceptional,” Ackley said. “We have one of the largest Civil War gun collections in the country. It's like walking through a museum. It really is.”
