It’s about meeting up with an old friend and treating them to a mimosa flight.

It’s about trying a new food you never thought you’d like.

And it’s about those moments with friends where everyone finally unplugs, slows down, and just enjoys being together.

It doesn’t have to be rushed. It doesn’t have to be stressful.

That’s the adult side of Disney — the side filled with late brunches, spontaneous laughs, hidden lounges, good conversations, and memories you actually get to be present for.

So plan the trip. Book the dinner. Say yes to the extra mimosa flight.

Because the magic isn’t just for kids anymore.

It’s going on 6 years since I lost my dad.

This is him. In a rice field. In Laos.

He took the trip of his lifetime to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos before he died.

Important to note…he served in the Vietnam War.

His entire life he wouldn’t talk about it. I can’t imagine what he must have gone through. He never wanted to go back. He had never really travelled since.

It wasn’t until one day we were chatting about Adventures by Disney. I had just sent clients on their Southeast Asia itinerary and I was sharing their experience.

I got called two weeks later. He couldn’t stop thinking about it. He thought, maybe, if I go back and see that the people there are all ok, I can feel better about my part in their suffering.

We booked it.

A life changing experience and one I am so proud to have been a small part of before he passed from cancer that was believed to be linked to Agent Orange.

At the time, his guides said he was the first American vet they’d ever had on the tour. It sounds fairly common that most vets would never want to set foot there again.

He was asked to speak to the group. He shared some things he had never shared with anyone.

And it brought people together.

He hugged his Vietnamese tour guide and told him he was sorry. He bonded with the cyclo driver that took them to a market on their free time. He surprised my mom with a hand crafted necklace from a street vendor.

He healed.

Travel is not just about the infinity pool or the sunshine or the relaxation.

Travel is HEALING.

Spirit Airlines is cancelling all flights effective immediately.
They are advising guests not to come to the airport at all if you have scheduled flights.
However other airlines such as Southwest Airlines are offering guests who are at the airport special pricing for rescue flights. You must be at a ticket counter to access.

If booked direct, refunds will be issued to the same form of payment. If you went third party, you are going to have to reach out to them for your options.

This has been a long time coming and a large part in why I never book clients with Spirit.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets will be available for resort guests starting on May 5th and all other guests on May 12th.
