Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Visitor Center at The Callicoon Depot

The historic train station in the center of Callicoon will soon become the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Visitor Center at Callicoon Depot.

Space will also be available for use as a community resource. Restoration will begin in 2025.

Local makers, crafters, artists and artisans will be selling their wares on Saturday, June 13, from 11 to 4, outside on the Callicoon Depot grounds. The Depot freight room will also be open for browsing through our extensive collection of used books. Depot caps and t-shirts for sale too. All proceeds will help support renovation of the historic 1896 train depot.

The Callicoon Business Association and Callicoon Depot Board were pleased to host a luncheon for railroaders and guests on a special New York Susquehanna and Western excursion train on June 5. The special train honored longtime NYS&W president Nathan Fenno, who recently retired. Special thanks to the railroad ground crew who helped with the set-up and Brooks BBQ for the great lunch. What a treat to see a passenger train at the Depot!

Stop by the Callicoon Depot on Saturday, May 30, to browse our extensive collection of used books, see the historic 1896 train depot, and check out the 2026 t-shirt designed by local artist Jay Brooks. All proceeds will help support the renovation of the depot. Open from 11 to 4.

Stop by the Callicoon Depot on Saturday, May 23 and browse through our extensive collection of used books, in the freight room of the former Erie Railroad Train Station. Depot t-shirts and caps are also available. All sales will help support the renovation of the historic 1896 depot.

Local makers, crafters, artists and artisans will be selling their wares at the first Callicoon Depot Market on Saturday, May 9, from 11 to 4, outside on the Depot grounds. The market will continue on the second Saturday of every month through November 14. Also check out the extensive collection of used books for sale in the Depot freight room, and the new Depot t-shirts and caps. Hope to see you there!

Join us at the Callicoon Depot in Callicoon for our first event of the 2026 season.
The following local organizations will be on hand to discuss sustainability and environmental stewardship: Catskill Mountainkeeper, Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District, Sullivan County Dept of Public Health, Delaware Highlands Conservancy, Damascus Citizens for Sustainability, and Farm Arts Collective.

Special activities will include:
• Nathaniel Whitmore will lead the two guided nature walks at 11 am and 2 pm. A forager and herbalist for more than 20 years, he will also highlight his nature-based walks and programs.
• A hamlet clean-up from 11 to 1 as part of the Upper Delaware Litter Sweep. Please contact [email protected] to order your litter pluck t-shirts to pick up at the event.

The event will be held rain or shine!
