The 47-mile stretch of US-41 from Houghton to Copper Harbor follows the copper lode that lies deep underground and is the basis of our exciting and turbulent history.

Are you a geocacher? Do you want to be a geocacher? Check out the 11th annual geocaching event at Fort Wilkin's State Park on Sept 9th! The event will begin with registration starting at 9:00 AM in the Picnic Shelter near the Fort Wilkins parking lot. Geocachers will be able to find several temporary caches (for the day) placed at historical, geological, and natural significant sites in and around the State Park. You must provide your own GPS. Then at 2:30 enjoy some hot dogs with other geocachers!
