Norther Malibu 5/23/2026
Hey Gang, decided to run down and fish Northern Malibu with this weekend’s group, what started out as a ultra slow trip ended up turning into a pretty good trip after the tide change, bass bite pretty good with big fish going a little over five lbs and we managed to get a few legal halibut as bycatch 😀 I even caught a few for the CCA Star tournament! Everything was caught on 4-5.25 Big Hammers. Cappy

Santa Barbara local 4/25/26

Hey Gang, we decided to take a shot at a local run this weekend despite the morbid forecast, Santa Barbara is a magical place that often will still be fish able even when there is a small craft advisory up. We actually started with a little SE wind but that quickly died off and we were left with some really nice weather till later in the day when we usually stop fishing anyways. Bass bit pretty well and we put together a really fun day, highlight was when one of the spots had calico’s up boiling on bait, so fun to watch them coming out of the water doing cartwheels! 4-5in Big Hammers and SP minnows got the job done! Hey Gang took this weekend’s group back over to where we fished last weekend and had even better results! The big difference though was the bass didn’t want anything to do with the rip baits today! We caught zero bass on them today, however they ate the plastic real good today, with lots of things working but once again 4-5in Big Hammers were the hot bait! Cappy

Hey Gang! Took my Guests over to the backside of Cruz today in foggy conditions, we ended up putting together a fun day of bassing with the bulk of the calico’s coming on rip baits fished shallow. Cappy

Hey another fantastic day of bass fishing on the coastal about 50/50 mix of calicos to sandies, no real stand outs but an amazing day on the water! Also caughta bunch of lings mixed in withthe bass. Smaller critter baits seemed to get bit better this trip with 4in Big Hammers being the hot bait.. Cappy

Hey Gang it’s that time of year that the bass fishing on the coast gets pretty good near Santa Barbara, we concentrated on deeper hard bottom area below the harbor and were rewarded with some really good bass fishing especially when the current kicked in! Bass bit various plastics but 4-5.25in Big Hammers in baitfish patterns were hot! Cappy
