What an incredible day welcoming the Greater Baltimore Section of the @ National Council of Negro Women to the Harriet Tubman Freedom Center and Harriet Tubman Tours!
Together, we explored the powerful history of Harriet Tubman, the courage of the freedom seekers, and the rich cultural heritage of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Through meaningful conversations, shared stories, and authentic experiences, we reflected on the resilience, leadership, and legacy that continue to inspire generations today.
The day was made even more special with a delicious meal, fellowship, and the opportunity to connect with a group of dedicated women committed to service, education, and community empowerment.
History is most powerful when it brings people together, sparks conversation, and inspires action—and this tour did exactly that.

What an incredible honor to be a part of the original Gullah Festival in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina!

We had an amazing time connecting with so many wonderful people and sharing the powerful story of Harriet Tubman and the rich history of Dorchester County, Maryland — the landscape that shaped one of America’s greatest freedom fighters.

It was truly inspiring to learn even more about Harriet Tubman’s remarkable connections and legacy in Beaufort, SC, while celebrating the deep cultural traditions, resilience, and history of the Gullah community. These conversations continue to remind us how interconnected our stories of freedom, faith, culture, and perseverance truly are.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us with such warmth and support. We look forward to continuing to build bridges between Maryland and South Carolina through history, heritage, and storytelling.
