These are seriously such cool boats! The only contention I have with this article is the claim that they’re not “fast”. It’s been rare for us to see less than 6.5 knots of speed on a daysail this summer. Join us aboard the Commodore’s own Friendship Sloop for all of our 2023 season.

The single-mast ships were once used for fishing. Now, they sail as a reminder of Maine’s rich maritime history.

Hi friends,

Yes, it’s been awhile but we’re finally back to chasing cool sea breezes in the warm summer air. The last picture of this post is a status report on our beloved Sloop Heritage.
Unfortunately, a project we anticipated being wrapped up by this Summer has had to be put on pause while we tend to our financial wounds. Lucky for us all we’ve been able to lease the wonderful Dictator Class Friendship Sloop, Inherit The Wind. She is owned by the Commodore of the Friendship Sloop Society, Victor Goulding and his wonderful wife Nancy.
Just check out how comfy these folks seem in her fully cushioned cockpit.
We look forward to offering our guests, both new and those returning, an excursion around the bay aboard this hardy and sea-kindly Maine-built vessel.
After weeks of fog there is finally plenty of sunshine showing on the 10 day forcast and we would truly love the chance to get you out there.
For now our 2022 prices are holding fast so if you’re considering a trip this summer you might want to get your bookings in before we get wise to this concept of hyper inflation! We aim to always remain fun, friendly, and affordable.

Season is wrapping up, folks! We are sailing today and tomorrow 10/21 & 10/22 then pulling the boat and putting her to sleep for the winter. ⛵️ 🍁

Beautiful conditions out on the bay today! We have availability for a sunset 4:30-6:30 tonight. Our last day of the season is this Sunday!
