Pacific West Coast Tour
July 14-August 1, 2027
July 14- We will leave Campton at 5:00 AM with pick-ups as needed. We will drive to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where we will spend the night at Holiday Inn Express Collins Rd. We will have a catered meal for dinner.
July 15- After an included breakfast, we will drive to Sioux Falls, SD where we will be able to visit and view the beautiful falls. After leaving the falls, we will drive on to Winner, SD where we will spend the night at the Holiday Inn Express.
July 16- This morning, after an included breakfast, we will start our journey to Billings, Montana. On the way, we will visit the South Dakota 1880 original town. Bring your group back in time and experience the spirit of the frontier at South Dakota’s original 1880 town. Walk the boardwalks, explore historic buildings, and enjoy a stop that offers something for every guest, whether they’re looking to explore, relax, or take in a bit of western history. After this stop, we will drive on to Billings, Montana where we will spend the night at Trailhead Inn.
July 17- After an included breakfast, we will travel to Spokane, Washington where we will spend the night at Oxford Suites in Spokane Valley.
July 18- After an included breakfast, we will make our way to Seattle, Washington. On the drive, we will stop at Spokane Falls. Spokane Falls is a spectacular, roaring urban waterfall and dam system on the Spokane River in downtown Spokane, Washington. We will spend the next 2 nights in Seattle, Washington at the Hyatt House which is the closest hotel to the Space Needle. You will have the rest of the day to explore the area. You will also be within walking distance of Chihuly Garden and Glass that you can visit on your own if you choose.
July 19-After an included breakfast, we will leave early with a step on guide to explore beautiful Mount Ranier. This is a sample itinerary that the guide gave me. 1st stop about an hour later (prior to park arrival) for rest stop and snacks. Arrive at Park entrance / take photos. Stops will include forest stroll, National Park Headquarters, glacial river stop, waterfall stroll, and Paradise at the 5,400 ft level for lunch/visitor center, and exploration of the meadows. Once we depart here, we will stop in the Stevens canyon for a walk at reflection lake, and canyon overviews. We will spend the night again at Hyatt House.
July 20- After an included breakfast, we will make our way to Portland, Oregon. On the way, we will visit Johnson Ridge Observatory. Here you will View the lava dome and growing glacier from a visitor center overlooking the crater. We will stop and have an included picnic lunch on the way. We will stay at Oxford Suites for the next 2 nights. Oxford Suites offer a complimentary soup and bread meal if you choose.
July 21- After an included breakfast, we will have a step on guide to tour the Oregon Coast. Our first stop will be Camp 18. Camp 18 is a famous, log-cabin-style restaurant and outdoor logging museum located at milepost 18 on U.S. Highway 26 in Elsie, Oregon. It pays tribute to the Pacific Northwest's historic timber industry. We will also have a stop at Haystack Rock. Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach is one of Oregon's most recognizable and popular attractions. Its intertidal area is one of Oregon's seven Marine Gardens, indicating its status as a protected area. Above the high tide line, Haystack Rock is protected as part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, providing habitat and viewing of a wide range of seabirds, including the most accessible colony of Tufted Puffins in the Northwest. Haystack Rock's tidepools are home to many intertidal animals, including sea stars, anemones, crabs, chitons, limpets, and nudibranchs. The most colorful and visible creatures are the sea stars exposed at low tide and the giant green anemones just below the water's surface. We will also visit Canon Beach. Cannon Beach is a premier coastal destination on the Oregon Coast, famous for its dramatic sea stacks, abundant wildlife, and vibrant arts scene. Located just 90 minutes from Portland, its unique blend of breathtaking natural beauty and a highly walkable, charming village earned it a spot on National Geographic's list of the world's 100 most beautiful places. We will also have a stop at Neahkahnie Viewpoint and Tillamook Creamery. Tillamook Creamery is famous for its award-winning cheddar cheeses and rich ice cream.
July 22- After an included breakfast, we will drive to Crescent City, a beautiful drive from Portland to Crescent City. We will spend the night at Oceanview Inn.
July 23- After an included breakfast, we will head to San Francisco, California. On the way we will be able to visit the Redwood Forrest which is known to have the world’s largest trees. We will spend the next 2 nights in San Francisco. We will stay at a hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf. You will have the rest of the afternoon and night on your own.
July 24- We will have a cold continental breakfast. Our bus driver will be off today but we will do a 5-hour tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito on another bus. This is your opportunity to get some beautiful photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. The rest of the afternoon will be on your own. Tonight, we will take the ferry out to Alcatraz prison for a nighttime tour. The Alcatraz Night Tour is an exclusive, 2.5-hour evening experience. It features a live-narrated sunset ferry ride, the award-winning audio tour, and special ranger-led programs not offered during the day.
July 25- After a cold continental breakfast, we start early to travel to Yosemite National Park. We will be staying at a hotel inside the park. You will also have tickets to do the Valley Floor Tours. Yosemite Valley Floor Tour is approximately 2 hours long and can be enjoyed during the warm months in an open-air tram, and during the colder months from the comfort of a heated motor coach with panoramic windows. Led by park rangers and Yosemite Hospitality naturalists, you’ll get to see all of the highlights at Yosemite, as you learn about the history, flora, and fauna throughout the park. The rest of the day will be on your own.
July 26- No Breakfast- Today, we make our way to Las Vegas, Nevada where we will spend the night on the main strip. This is a short stop, but you can get a taste of Vegas and then you can go back with us on our southwest trip where we will spend 2 nights there.
July 27- No Breakfast-This morning, we will depart our hotel to travel to Bryce Canyon National Park where we will stay close to the entrance to the park at Best Western Plus Ruby Inn. You will have the afternoon inside the park to do the free hop on hop off shuttle that will take you to the scenic parts of the park.
July 28- This morning, we will drive to Denver, Colorado. This is a long day of driving, but you can rest and relax while traveling. Tonight, we stay at the Drury Inn in Denver. We should arrive in time for the kick back meal at Drury Inn.
July 29- After an included breakfast, we will have a step on guide for half day. On this guided tour, you will visit the Red Rock Amphitheatre as well as lots of other things. We will spend the night in Hays, Kansas at Best Western Plus Butterfield Inn.
July 30- After an included breakfast, we will drive to Springfield, Illinois where we will spend the next 2 nights at Drury Inn. Tonight, after our kick back meal, we will do a ghost walk in the city of Springfield.
July 31- After an included breakfast, we will do the Lincoln Experience. The Lincoln Experience Tour in Springfield, Illinois, is a highly immersive 4-hour guided deep dive into the 16th President's life, tracing his footsteps through the exact homes, courtrooms, and historic sites where he lived, worked, and rose to national prominence. Tonight, we will spend the night again at Drury Inn.
August 1- After an included breakfast, we will begin our way back home.
