Ontario County is a good place to cast a line for a few hours or the whole day. The Finger Lakes are known for both warm- and cold-water fishing, with catches like lake trout, black bass, Atlantic salmon, and walleye.

If you’re 16 or older, make sure you have your New York State fishing license before you go.

The Canandaigua Art & Music Festival is coming soon, with artists set up along Main Street, music playing downtown, and plenty of food nearby on June 17th.

See the work of 50+ artists at the 53rd Annual Lakefront Art Show on Canandaigua Lake, July 25-26, 2026 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Kershaw Park.

Experience the 2026 Indigenous Music & Arts Festival July 25-26, 2026 featuring award-winning musicians, performers, artist demonstrations, a Native American Arts Market, children's activities, raffles, Indigenous cuisine, live interviews, and guided gallery and walking trail tours.

What a great first day of the Freedom Festival at Bristol Hills! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate Ontario County’s rich history and commemorate America 250, visitors enjoyed a day filled with living history demonstrations, historical talks, and opportunities to connect with the stories, people, and events that helped shape our community.

The fun continues tomorrow, June 14, with more activities, historical presentations, reenactors, and family-friendly experiences throughout the day.

And this is just the beginning. America 250 programming will continue throughout the summer and beyond, offering opportunities to explore, learn about, and celebrate Ontario County’s unique heritage.
