Promoting the Lincoln Highway, our effort will strengthen education, increase tourism, and encourage economic development along America's first coast-to-coast paved road. Conceived in 1913 by industrialists to begin a robust auto era, and to get the government's attention that roads would soon be a normal way of travel, the Lincoln Highway was America's first "rock" highway created by connecting e

xisting local roads and paths and improving them to provide a coast-to-coast highway, and dedicated to President Lincoln.

Congratulations to Crawford County for being the leading county in Ohio Lincoln Highway License Plate sales in CY2020. Van Wert County slips to second this year. These two counties account for 24-27 percent of total LH Plate sales each year. We need to encourage our friends and neighbors to request a Lincoln Highway Plate when they renew their vehicle registration in 2021. The cost is only $30 above the cost of the regular plate. The State keeps $10 and $20 goes to support the promotion of the Lincoln Highway. This year will be a bigger travel year for One-Tank-Trips along the Lincoln Highway, as people want to get out and see the countryside while still not traveling too far from home.
