Happy National Public Lands Day!

To help celebrate, we are hosting the Alaska Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers Board meeting this weekend. BHA is the voice for our wild public lands, waters, and wildlife. BHA works to ensure that our public lands are protected for public use, not private interests and do so through conservation projects and advocacy.

If you enjoy recreating on public lands, we highly recommend that you join BHA to help protect these lands. There are many recent threats to huge swaths of public lands in Alaska and across the nation. This includes lands surrounding our homestead on the Denali Highway. Once we the people lose these lands, we can never get them back.

Please consider joining BHA

It’s blowing 20+ mph, why not work on the roof?! This week we are putting a new steel roof on the original Susitna Lodge building. The view is pretty spectacular up here! Hopefully have photos of the total makeover soon.

These moose have some funky swagger! Ran into a mama with newborn twins last night near the lodge. Tis the week of babies on the Denali Highway.
