Sassy is one of the oldest horses here at The Hideout at Palo Duro Canyon, but let me tell you, she's not sassy at all. We got her from a local rescue organization, and despite being a total sweetheart, she was named Sassy because she came to us swinging - or should I say, neighing. A more fitting name would be Sweet Pea, but we're sticking with Sassy. This old gal's got some serious health issues, including PPID, which is a tumor on her pituitary gland. And if that's not enough, she's also got founder and chronic laminitis - Ouch!, which means we have to watch her diet like a hawk. Just a little sugar and she's limping around like a, well, like a horse with a limp. When you book a stay with us, you're helping to support horses like Sassy, who all have their own special needs. We even have a blind horse on the premises - talk about a special snowflake. So if you book an August stay, be sure to use coupon code HIDEOUT20 for a 20% discount.
