Emerald Princess balcony stateroom with an extended balcony. This is an ā€œolderā€ midsize princess ship compared to some of the newer ships out there, but for Alaska, I wouldnā€™t suggest anything different. The smaller the ship, the closer to the glaciers. Also - in my opinion a smaller ship has a lot of benefits, less crowds, no reserving of activities/shows needed, you actually get to know the staff. It was absolutely perfect.
