We had the best time celebrating New Years Eve in Cape Charles. We said goodbye to , had dinner at and rang in the new year at . We kicked off New Year’s Day watching the annual First Day in the Bay polar plunge 🥶. Happy New Year to all!! 🌅

A landmark restaurant in Cape Charles, , is closing its doors on Dec 31st. Kelly’s Gingernut Pub was one of the few places in town during the early years where Cape Charles began to see a resurgence. Like many of you we have shared many meals and made even more memories at Kelly’s over the years. They are going out with a bang this New Year’s Eve, stop by and wish them well if you can. Wishing the owners and staff all best and many thanks for their almost two decade commitment to the town of Cape Charles 🌅

Follow up on our previous post about our restoration of one of the original Shanty doors. We feel very fortunate to have been able to acquire this piece and show it some love. The Shanty has been the backdrop for some of our favorite memories over the years, to have a piece of it in our home means a great deal to us. Here’s to many more Shanty sunsets and memories 🌅 🌊

The Sunset Beach Bar and Grille, part of the Chesapeake Bay KOA resort, is a great waterfront spot just a few miles south of Cape Charles. We’ve watched this place change hands over the years, and the current owners have done an excellent job of investing in this beautiful spot. Just south of the Kiptopeke concrete ships, this is a great spot to arrive by boat, anchor off the beach (100’ or more) and enjoy a delicious meal or cocktail while looking out over the Bay. We only snapped this one pic yesterday of our fresh squeezed orange crush, but we had a great lunch and listened to some live music. Be sure to add this to your list of places to go when visiting Cape Charles 🌅 🌊

My home in Cape Charles is now available for vacation rental! I purchased this home in 2010 and have put a lot of love into it and have made wonderful memories here over the years. As my kids are getting older and we are able to go less often, it’s time to let other families enjoy it . The home is 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Check out the link in my bio for details.
