So excited that beaches in Sanibel are reopening! We boated there last weekend, it was so good to be back!!

The City of Sanibel opened limited parking on its beaches Feb. 4.

With the craziness of the past couple weeks I almost forgot to post the final photos!! Main floor renovation done, on time and well…not exactly under budget, but done beautifully!! We are so excited to report that our cabinets arrived today! This might not mean much to most, but for us it means we will finish our rebuild in time for our first post Ian guests on the 10th.

In this week that we all give thanks, I cannot thank Locarno Construction enough for all they have done! Hector, Carol and their entire crew have been amazing! They dropped everything when we needed them and have worked through difficult supply issues and many challenges to somehow finish on time. It’s impossible to properly express my appreciation!

I need to throw out a huge thank you to several people who made this happen. To my brother who replaced every light fixture in the house, some more than once and drilled into ever concrete wall in the place, thank you! To my amazing friend Jacklyn who jumped on a plane without thought to assemble furniture and clean up our construction zone. To my talented and amazingly supportive boyfriend Brian who flew out to build the tiki bar, banquette and giant dining table that I had in my head and then turned around two days after getting home to come back when it looked like we would not finish. To my son for putting up with the insanity of the past month and for coming out to put in some manual labor, thank you Riley! And most of all to my absolutely fantastic sister-in-law Jes who designed and planned every single step of this crazy project and worked until she collapsed to get it done. She is the undisputed queen of furniture assembly, the maven of caulk guns and a genius with design.

I love all of you and can’t wait to make some amazing memories here!
