Going to Alaska / Canada? Non US / Canadian citizens MUST abide by the following, here is recent info from Royal Caribbean. Make sure you know about this strict policy regarding ESTA (for USA) or ETA (for Canada) prior to boarding or you will be denied.
REQUIRED TRAVEL DOCUMENTS FOR TRAVEL TO CANADA AND ALASKA
We look forward to welcoming you aboard! Below, we have some important information to share
with you regarding required travel documents. Please note, these are government requirements,
and not having the proper visa will result in an immediate denial of boarding, with no exceptions.
β’ CANADA VISAS:
o As our sailing will visit Canada, guests from select countries may be required to have a Canadian Visitor's Visa in order to board.
o Guests who are departing from a US port will require a Visa.
o We strongly recommend applying a minimum of 40 days prior to sail date to ensure a timely approval.
o When applying for the visa, please make sure to provide your name and personal data as it is reflected on your travel documentation.
o Guests who are departing from Vancouver may be able to sail with an ETA Only.
o To confirm whether you need a Canadian Visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization
o Guests who arrive without the proper requirements will be denied boarding.
β’ U.S. Visas/ESTAS:
o As our sailing will visit Alaska in the United States, guests from select countries will be required to have a U.S. Visa or ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization)
in order to board our sailing. U.S. and Canadian guests do not
need an ESTA for our sailing.
o When applying for your ESTA:
o Please take a selfie, do not use your passport photo for your ESTA application.
o ESTA applications will be cancelled if a passport photo is detected.
o If you have already applied for ESTA and used your passport photo, please reapply with a selfie instead.
o Important Note: If you previously had an approved ESTA but you now have a replacement or new passport, you will need to re-apply for a new ESTA. Your former ESTA is linked to your previous passport, therefore it is no longer valid, even if it is
not yet expired.
β’ TRAVEL DOCUMENTS:
o All guests traveling, regardless of age, must bring a passport book - not a passport card - that's valid for at least six (6) months after the return date of our sailing. Not
having the proper travel documentation will result in a denial of boarding.
