The Rosen brothers who developed Cape Coral in the late 50s and early 60s used an “amphibicar” to take buyers on property tours. You could purchase a waterfront plot with only $20 as a down payment. Salesman were also sent overseas and had a lot of luck in Germany, which is why there are so many Germans in Cape Coral today.
