Get ready, Carbondale! ✨ The 54th Mountain Fair is almost here, bringing its unique blend of art, community, and pure joy this weekend, July 25-27, 2025!

Born over 50 years ago from the heart of volunteers, Mountain Fair embodies the very best of Carbondale: Collaboration, Creativity, Education, Volunteerism, Curiosity, and Inclusion. It's the soul of our community, built with love, history, and humanity through art.

This year, the theme is ¡Let’s Dance, Bailemos! 💃🕺 Get ready to move and groove, and for those who love to dress up, the Fair has daily themes:

Friday 7/25: DANCING QUEENS (Disco night! Think bell bottoms, sparkles, and 70s royalty!)

Saturday 7/26: ZIGGY STARDUST ‘LET’S DANCE’ (Embrace your inner David Bowie glam rock star!)

Sunday 7/27: SHAKE IT! ¡SACÚDELO! (Wear anything with fringe, flowing kilts, or whatever makes you want to shake!)

Heads Up, Fire Restrictions Are In Effect! The White River National Forest, BLM Upper Colorado River District, and Garfield County have officially enacted Stage 1 fire restrictions.

This is crucial for preventing wildfires and keeping our beautiful landscapes safe. Please know and follow these rules:
🔹Campfires are ONLY allowed within designated fire grates in developed campgrounds. This means a metal, in-ground containment structure — fire pans and rock campfire rings are not acceptable.
🔹No fires of any type, including charcoal, outside of developed areas.
🔹No smoking except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or in a barren area free of vegetation.
🔹No use of explosive materials, including fireworks, explosive targets, or tracer rounds.
🔹No welding or operation of an acetylene or other similar torch with open flame, except from an area that has been cleared of vegetation.
🔹No operation of any internal combustion engine without a spark-arresting device properly installed and in working order.

Officials are constantly evaluating conditions, and BLM Grand Junction and Colorado River Valley Field Offices, along with unincorporated private lands in Eagle, Garfield, Mesa, Pitkin, and Summit counties, are also under these restrictions. Let's all do our part to Take It Easy on our wild places.
