This is an amazing story of a young girl from Uganda who was born with a heart defect that was life threatening. Through a program called “The Gift Of Life”, and the support of a host family, the young girl named Brilliant was able to get her lifesaving surgery. Joanna Cavallaro Palumbo and the rest of her family was Brilliants host family. The Polumbo’s took them sightseeing, went to all of Brilliant’s doctors appointments, and even sat with Brilliant and her family during surgery.

When Joanna Palumbo asked me to make a flag for Brilliant, I was excited to help. It’s amazing what the Palumbo family did for Brilliant, and I was glad to be a tiny part of that! Now a will be in Uganda!
