Check out this amazing experience our team member Danielle recently had:
"Last week, I ticked off a long-standing bucket list destination: Palau – a pristine island nation in the Pacific that has often been just a little too hard (and expensive) to reach from Australia. Previously, flights from Brisbane involved layovers in Manila or Taipei, around 16 hours in transit, and airfares over $2000 (in economy).
That all changed when my favourite airline, Qantas, secured a government-funded contract to operate direct flights from Brisbane to Palau. As soon as the route was announced last year, I made sure it was part of my 2025 travel plans – and I’m so glad I did.
Now just a 6-hour flight, Palau is more accessible than ever for Aussies looking to explore untouched reefs, crystal-clear waters, and a warm Pacific welcome.
The route is currently listed on the Qantas site through to November. Travellers and locals, I spoke to in Palau are hopeful the contract will be extended with Qantas. With more awareness and a stronger long-term commitment from the airline, government and the tourism board, I hope they can better promote this piece of paradise.
Here’s to better connections, sustainable tourism, and opening doors to places that deserve the spotlight."
